Overview

This course is a mandatory pathway for students that wish to obtain their domestic builder’s license. Our nationally accredited pathway program will help you to develop the skills to manage a wide range of building projects. You will learn to take responsibility for coordinating the complete construction of a residential, industrial or commercial building. Learning from industry professionals, you will develop specialist skills and knowledge to run a small-to-medium construction business. Online & campus learning options: Courses offered as part of blended learning programs include a meaningful blend of online, on-campus, and workplace based learning tailored to the type of study you undertake.

Government Funding Options: This course is delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government Funding, for students who meet the eligibility criteria. Oz learn representatives will guide and manage this process for you.

Course eligibility requirements :

 

 Learners must have completed the following two units prior to being assessed in CPCCBC5018 Apply structural principles to the construction of buildings up to 3 storeys:

  1. CPCCBC5001Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for Type B construction
  2. CPCCBC4053Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for Class 2 to 9, Type C buildings
  3.  

Please Note that learners must have completed the following two units prior to being assessed in CPCCBC4010 Apply structural principles to residential and commercial constructions:

  1. CPCCBC4053Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for Class 2 to 9 Type C buildings.
  2. CPCCBC4001Apply building codes and standards to the construction process for Class 1 and 10 buildings

 

Recognition of Prior Learning is the process that recognises a student’s current skills and experience, regardless of where and when the learning occurred. Students may have existing knowledge and skills, and these could be formally recognised and credited towards a qualification from our training partners.

Credit Transfer (CT)

Our accredited training institutions recognise all qualifications issued under the AQF (Australian Qualifications Framework). Original copies of certificate and transcript will need to be sighted by a trainer. There is no fee for credit transfer. If a credit transfer for ‘Provide First Aid’ unit is applied for, it must be current, including the CPR component which requires a refresher every year. Talk to our staff about credit transfer during the enrolment process.

Assessments can be submitted via face to face classes or in the online learning environment. All students are encouraged to submit assignments online.

Completion of the general construction induction training program specified by the model Code of Practice for Construction Work is required for any person who is to carry out construction work. Achievement of unit CPCCWHS1001 Prepare to work safely in the construction industry meets this requirement.

Builder licensing varies across States and Territories and requirements additional to the attainment of this qualification may be required.
